About Redeeming the Time Clock Repair
Hey there, I’m Bruce Betrosoff, and I’m thrilled to be the owner of Redeeming the Time Clock Repair. It’s no surprise that many of my customers are curious about my background in clock repair, and I’m always happy to share my story.
Repairing clocks has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. My journey began with training in the manufacturing and repair of jewelry during my time at a vocational high school. Those skills that I acquired have proven to be invaluable as I’ve delved further into the fascinating world of clockwork. So, let’s dive into a breakdown of my experiences that have shaped me into the clock repair expert I am today, starting right after my high school years.
Experience
1967 – I received comprehensive training in the manufacturing and repair of jewelry during my high school years. These skills have proven to be invaluable in my work with clocks.
1967–1991 – I served as a Mustang AF Aircraft Maintenance Officer, rising through the military ranks to captain. With 42 years of federal service, including 22 years of active duty and 20 years as a federal civilian, I am incredibly proud to be a Vietnam veteran.
1991 – I obtained certification as a Licensed Aircraft Maintainer from the FAA.
You’re probably wondering what all this has to do with clock maintenance and repair. I can apply many aircraft maintenance concepts I have learned to my clockwork, like the KISS principle of troubleshooting, starting with simple causes and working toward more complex ones. I have developed many hands-on skills like shaping and forming metal, which have served me well in my clockwork.
My experience calibrating military precision electronic equipment has taught me to be precise and thorough in my maintenance practices. The skill I have developed over the years, which I rely heavily on in my clockwork, is my “My MacGyver” way of thinking outside the box to be innovative in my repairs.
1970 – Present – I maintain my own clocks and those of friends.
1998 – I completed Emperor Clock’s four-day course in basic maintenance and repair of Hermle clock movements.
2000 – I built Emperor Clock’s Curio Grandfather Clock Kit and continue to maintain the movement, having cleaned and overhauled it in 2014.
2017 – I started Redeeming the Time Clock Repair. It’s doing well, turning a 2018 taxable business profit of $3,160.00. I work out of my home in Warner Robins, GA, a military town for Robins AFB. A large percentage of my customers are active-duty and retired military members.
My military customers own an array of clocks, ranging from grandfather clocks to 400-day clocks and everything in between. The military members bring many clocks back while serving an overseas tour of duty in locations like Germany and England.
I provide a 10% military discount to my active duty military brothers and sisters to honor their service to our great nation.
